One Raceway

Overview

One Raceway, formerly Wakefield Park, is a landmark motorsport circuit near Goulburn, NSW. After the track was shut down due to noise disputes and years of neglect, new ownership acquired it in 2023 and set about a complete rebuild, new infrastructure, a full rebrand, and a reopening in 2024 as Australia's only bi-directional motor racing circuit. Jiffi has been embedded as One Raceway's total solutions partner from day one. We’ve been responsible for building the infrastructure, systems, brand, and digital capability needed to bring the venue to life, and keep it evolving. The partnership is now entering its third year.

The challenge

Reopening a major motorsport facility that had been closed since 2022.

  • No existing IT infrastructure across a 130-acre, multi-building circuit. No fibre, no wifi, no broadcast capability
  • Race control systems including timing, sound monitoring, and signalling all needed to be designed, built, or integrated from scratch
  • No digital platform for driver bookings, waivers, scrutineering, or scheduling, everything was manual, with drivers queuing for up to 30 minutes just to sign on
  • No brand identity, website, merchandise, or marketing capability for the newly renamed venue
  • A critical noise compliance challenge, the previous operators had been shut down over excessive noise, and the venue's future depended on getting this right
  • Contractors couldn't deliver, submitted designs repeatedly missed the mark, so Jiffi ended up doing much of the work directly, from network infrastructure design to physical installations

The solution

Jiffi was embedded as One Raceway's technology and operations arm, acting as the venue's fractional CTO, directing third-party trades, coordinating with development partners, and making the technology decisions that shaped the venue's digital foundation.

A dedicated team was assigned to the account.

The partnership has followed a clear arc: Year 1 was to build the foundation and get the track open. Year 2 was to deliver race-critical bespoke systems. Year 3 is scale operations and platform maturity.

Year 1: Build the foundation

Year 1 was about getting One Raceway off the ground.

Infrastructure and connectivity

Designed and implemented the full network systems for the entire venue from zero. Over 10 km of fibre was pulled and installed, connecting all track operational centres. Outside broadcast infrastructure was deployed, servers installed for myLaps timing, cameras, and PA systems, and UPS power resilience put in place across the venue. All track decoders were installed including North Pit Exit lights. Jiffi directed the full coordination of third-party trades for electrical, trenching, and conduit installations.

Track design support

Jiffi sourced a sim developer to build a virtual model of the modified track, allowing the team to test car speeds in both directions before construction was finalised. This directly influenced corner design decisions, construction was stopped and redirected based on sim testing, saving significant time and cost and helping enable the track's unique bi-directional capability.

Race Control TV, PA, and commentary

Launched the MVP for Race Control TV streaming and race-day information panels on the start/finish line. Brought the PA system to MVP across garages, paddock, and FM broadcast. Set up the commentary box for PA broadcasting.

Branding and marketing

Supported the brand identity from the ground up: logo design and refinement, brand guidelines, digital design, and six unique merchandise designs. Facilitated the MCM partnership (141,000+ views) and closed the Top Gear Australia deal for brand exposure. Curated a database of 4,000+ marketing contacts and reviewed PR agencies for future opportunities. Launched the foundation membership program, driving early revenue for the venue.

Website

Managed full delivery and maintenance of the One Raceway website, delivering multiple iterations through launch. Designed two concept membership sites. Managed the Pheasant Wood (another race track owned by One Raceway), website alongside One Raceway.

1Racer app: discovery and development

Ran the full lifecycle for the 1Racer app: discovery, design, delivery, and testing. There was nothing on the market that could run a racetrack's operations end-to-end, from sign-on and waivers to scheduling and event management, so Jiffi pitched and scoped a purpose-built application. Managed all app store procurement for Apple and Google, and secured AWS startup credits to support cloud infrastructure. Jiffi absorbed 40 days of 1Racer development outside the retainer.

Software stack, built from scratch

Procured, set up, and managed 10+ software platforms from scratch: Dialpad (phones), Shopify (POS), Deputy (workforce), Tally (forms), Stripe (payments), Fireflies (meeting capture), Cirrus Research / Quantum sound meter (noise monitoring), Google Suite, Klaviyo (email marketing), and ByBrand (email signatures).

Custom sound monitoring: the speed camera for noise

The previous operators were shut down over noise complaints, so getting this right was non-negotiable. Jiffi researched and procured a high-quality Quantum sound meter, then built custom software that listens to the meter and triggers a camera on the opposite side of the track, capturing the offending vehicle's image and number in real time. AI was built around the capture to ensure accuracy. The system runs every single day and tracks all noise infringements automatically.

Event support and on-site operations

Provided operational support for One Raceway's first-ever major event, managing Race Control, overseeing merchandise sales, and coordinating on-the-ground technical support. Managed the volunteer program for race-day operations.

Year 2: deliver race-critical bespoke systems

Year 2 shifted from reactive launch mode to a structured retainer model focused on bespoke development.

Custom race operations technology

Designed and delivered a suite of bespoke systems to power race-day operations across the circuit including real time gantry infopanel software giving drivers and spectators live information trackside, custom-built start/finish light controllers with 3D-printed hardware and embedded code, and custom myLaps pit wall panel software for professional-grade race timing. Beyond the core racing systems, fibre and Wi-Fi connectivity was extended to all operational centres, full OB inputs and outputs were completed for track TV production, and pit exit radar equipment was installed, ensuring every element of the track's technology infrastructure was purpose built and race ready.

By the numbers

  • Over 10 km of fibre designed, pulled, and installed across 130 acres
  • 10+ software platforms procured and managed from scratch
  • 6+ major events supported in 2025 including Wakefield 300 and Australian Superbikes
  • 141,000+ views from the MCM partnership
  • 4,000+ marketing contacts curated
  • 6 unique merchandise designs created
  • Custom-built sound meter, infopanel software, start/finish light controllers, and myLaps pit wall software

Outcomes

Connected infrastructure from the ground up. Over 10 km of fibre, wifi, broadcast, OB infrastructure, and UPS power systems deployed across the entire 130-acre circuit, enabling seamless race-day operations for competitors, officials, and broadcasters.

Race-critical bespoke systems built and operational. Custom sound monitoring with AI-powered vehicle capture, gantry infopanels, start/finish light controllers (custom hardware and software), myLaps pit wall software, Race Control TV streaming, PA system, and FocSign TV distribution, all designed, built, and maintained by Jiffi.

Brand and audience built from scratch. Logo, brand guidelines, merchandise, website, and a marketing database delivered alongside MCM (141,000+ views), Top Gear Australia, and a foundation membership program that drove early revenue for the venue.

1Racer launched successfully. A purpose-built platform for driver bookings, event management, waivers, and ticketing, from discovery and app store procurement through to UAT, documentation, and on-site rollout. Built to eventually serve racetracks beyond One Raceway.

Operational independence accelerated. electrical site maps, user guides, UAT procedures, training materials, and a full systems audit, so the One Raceway team can operate independently.

Why It Matters

Australia has lost over 30 racetracks due to residential encroachment, noise complaints, financial pressure, and rezoning for housing. Wakefield Park was headed the same way.

Jiffi didn't just install systems. A team was dedicated to the account, operating across infrastructure, software, branding, and strategic advisory. From pulling fibre and custom-building race control hardware to launching a website, designing merchandise, securing media partnerships, building an app from scratch, and standing trackside during major events, Jiffi has been the technology and operations backbone behind One Raceway's transformation.

The result is a venue that operates with the digital maturity of a much larger organisation, with a scalable platform and an embedded partner to keep it evolving.
